今年のハロウィーン

教会の後に我が家の近所の商店街のハロウィーン祭に出かけた。本当のハロウィーンは31日だが、この祭はいつも直前の日曜日。歩いて数分で商店街に出る。写真のようなポニーに乗る遊びとかヤギやヒツジやガチョウやニワトリやウサギに触れる動物小屋があり、食べ物屋があり、いつもの朝市の八百屋や果物屋も出ている。焼きトウモロコシが３ドル50セント。高い。１ドルのブドウ屋を見つけ帰りに買おうと思っていたら帰りには売り切れていた。



ハロウィーン会場に出張して募金していた２９地区（私たちの地区）の消防士に寄付（１口25ドル）する。ご褒美に「２９」と染め抜いたTシャツをもらい、消防自動車で記念写真（お尻向けで御免）。公衆の面前で着替えはできないので、着ていたシャツの上に着たが、コットンなので意外に涼しい。着て歩いていたら、地区選出の市会議員 Mr. LaBonge に呼び止められる。寄付ありがとうという意味なのだろうが如才がない、こやつ。しかし、あんたにゃ投票しない。民主党嫌い。（アーノルド・シュワルツネッガー州知事の奥さんマリアは民主党でも例外的に好き。シュワちゃんが共和党、マリアが民主党という不思議な夫婦だ。）
